Asking Special Friends to be part of your Wedding Party (the right way)!

Often times the minute your beau pops the question and puts a ring on that left hand finger, many Brides to be have some type of urge to call all their gal pals up and shout "Guess what, I'M ENGAGED!" - some where in that same phone call, either the friend says "does this mean i'm going to be in your wedding?" or the bride out of excitement blurts out "will you be my maid of honor"?

The problem with this is that you've barely been engaged for a minute and have so much racing through your mind about "The Big Day", that you don't have enough time to give it deep thought as to which friends you'd want most to be standing by your side during your wedding ceremony, which friends are truly there for you when you need them to be, which friends can be financially able to contribute to throwing you a bachelorette party (if that would be expected of them), and which friends have the time to dedicate to you in attending fittings or appointments if you need assistance. Bottom line is, give yourself enough time to select friends to be in your Bridal Party (or for the Groom - his Groomsmen) that will genuinely be there to support you and that you will be able to look back on your wedding photos and be able to say your still friends!

Once you've taken the time to make your decision as to how many Bridesmaids & Groomsmen  you will have (as well as Maid of Honor/Best Man), then it is best to ask them to be part of your Bridal Party in a personal and special way! Sending a formal card in the mail as a special gesture to ask them the sweet question of honor is always appropriate (usually the minute they open it they'll end up calling you with loads of excitement and say "yes, I'll be your Bridesmaid" or if they know they have a busy year with a pregnancy or busy work load, they may unfortuantely decline - which is OK too)! Now days there are many creative Brides and Grooms who ask their close friends in extra special ways, such as: custom cookies or cupcakes that say "Will YOU Be My Maid of Honor?", send flowers to them at work with a special card. No matter what you do to ask them, make sure its polite, done in the right timing, and most of all be understanding if they let you know they are unfortunately unable to - trust me, I'm sure you'll have no problem thinking of another friend who would love to play a special role in your big day!

Here are some examples of specialized cards you can order to ask your close friends to be in your Wedding Party, from our Shop:

When it comes to choosing gifts for friends and family its hard enough to figure out a special gift to give... When it comes to getting just the right gift for your Groom To Be - now that's a tough one to figure out!!! I absolutely love the idea of giving the one-of-a-kind gift of professional Boudoir Photos of yourself. It is the perfect gift to have a female photographer take pictures of you, create a small album, and have the wrapped album privately delivered to your groom just before he is supposed to walk down the aisle (what a nice surprise)! Remember, YOUR GETTING MARRIED... this is a fabulous way to have your future Husband looking forward to not only the honeymoon - but more importantly spending the rest of your lives together~

Real Weddings: Ideas for throwing the Groom a Shower!

I had the honor of throwing a Groom Shower for one of my Co-Workers, Jose, who recently married his beautiful wife Diana. The location was at a nearby park in the peak of the heat... we only had about an hour to dress up the place and make it feel fit for a Prince... Decided to go with the theme of The Frog Prince as I thought it was fitting that Diana finally found her Prince ;) Check out a few of the pictures from the fun event!

Decorated in Green and White, the Frog Prince Theme was a hit with our Cupcake Tower (the topper said "Will Work For Kisses"). Unfortunatelty we didn't start taking pictures till the end of the shower, which is why most of the cupcakes were already gone and eaten. I found these fantastic polka dotted lime green balloons that everyone loved at a local party supply store. The game pictured above was a questionaiire as to how well the Groom knew the Bride (all in all, he scored pretty well). The final picture is pretty funny.... We made a bouquet with some of the wrapping paper and transformed a picture of the Bride's face cutout by adding a veil to the picture (we used a program fan template and glued her face and veil onto it since the Bride was unable to attend - she was there in spirit and in picture;). It was a hilarious way to make the groom feel special. Hope you enjoy the inspiring pictures~
